Mandala & The Mendhi Girl
Artist
Valrie Eisemann
From:
La Veta, CO
Valrie’s Mandala was the first mural to be completed on the newly resurfaced levee. To Valrie, mandalas symbolize the connection between life & the greater cosmos. From the middle they expand outward, creating a unique web that connects all parts together like a flower. Valrie particularly loves colorful mandalas because it is hard to imagine life without the entire spectrum. In contrast, the Mehndi Girl directly to the right of her Mandala will stay black and white. The Mendhi Girl is inspired by henna body art. Lots of movement around the stillness of the girl. She was one of Valrie’s very first drawings.
